Day 1: Tel Aviv, Israel
Check-in to your city-center hotel.
Day 2: Tel Aviv
Explore old and new Tel Aviv beginning in Neve Tzedek, the city’s first neighborhood now filled with galleries and cafes. Visit the unique Rokach Museum in the home of one of Tel Aviv’s first families; drive down Rothschild Boulevard to visit Independence Hall and the Carmel Market, and enjoy splendid views from the Azriell Observation Tower.
Day 3: Tel Aviv - Mt. Carmel - Nazareth - Tiberias
Tour the ruins of the Herodian port of Caesarea, including an interactive presentation. Continue up Mt. Carmel and stop in a Druze village to meet with a local family and browse the market. Visit the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth before driving to your hotel in Tiberias.
Day 4: Tiberias - Jerusalem
Journey south to Jerusalem and check-in to your hotel.
Day 5: Jerusalem - Mt. Zion - Temple Mount
Begin your exploration of Jerusalem with views from the Mt. of Olives and a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane. See the Room of the Last Supper on Mt. Zion, walk the Via Dolorosa, visit the Jewish Quarter and see the Western Wall of Temple Mount. Visit the Israel Museum to see a scale model of Jerusalem during the time of the Second Temple.
Day 6: Jerusalem - Amman
Private car transfer to the Tel Aviv airport. Flight to Amman followed by private car transfer to your hotel in Amman.
Day 7: Amman - Jerash - Ajloun
This morning, you will tour nearby Jerash, one of the world’s best-preserved Roman cities. The mountaintop crusader castle in Ajloun, dating from the 12th century, has fantastic views of the Jordan Valley. This is where the Arab forces of Saladin defeated the Crusaders.
Day 8: Amman - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Kerak - Petra
Travel to Petra via Madaba, Mt. Nebo and Kerak. Some of the world’s finest Byzantine mosaics are found in Madaba, as is the oldest known map of the Holy Land. Mt. Nebo, thought to be the burial site of Moses, boasts a splendid view of the Dead Sea. Pass through Wadi Mujib and visit Kerak’s massive Crusader Castle, built on a plateau 3,400 feet above sea level.
Day 9: Petra
Take a full day to explore the legendary rosered city of Petra. Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Most of the 800 monuments in Petra are carved out of solid rock. See the spectacular Treasury, the 8,000-seat amphitheater, the Temple of the Winged Lions and other monuments.
Day 10: Petra - Wadi Rum - Amman
Visit the Wadi Rum Desert in a 4WD vehicle. Lawrence of Arabia spent time on this awesome moonscape of sand and wind-sculpted stone. Later return to Amman.
Day 11: Depart Amman for your flight home
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
